Edward Schmitt
Edward Schmitt is the Real Estate Transaction Manager for Canyon Capital Realty Advisors LLC. Edward is responsible for assisting the CCRA and CJUF team members by obtaining, reviewing, indexing and archiving due diligence materials. He also works with the Canyon team, local development partners, lenders and legal counsel through the closing, asset-management and disposition phases of the investments. Prior to joining Canyon, Mr. Schmitt was a real estate paralegal in the Los Angeles offices of Dewey Ballantine LLP and Loeb & Loeb LLP. Prior to joining Loeb, he was a real estate paralegal for the law firm of Dwyer & Cambre in Metairie, Louisiana, while concurrently acting as title officer for Founder's Title Company, a part of the Dwyer law firm, and underwriting title insurance for Stewart Title Guaranty Company in Louisiana and Texas. Mr. Schmitt is a graduate of McNeese State University (B.S., Management and Marketing) and the Louisiana State University Paralegal Studies Program.
