Randy Slaughter
Randy Slaughter is the Director of Security for Canyon Capital Realty Advisors. He is responsible for all aspects of security and security management at Canyon as well as administering the Business Continuity and Emergency Operations Plan. Additionally, Mr. Slaughter provides consultative and investigative services to Canyon and its real estate portfolio with respect to risk management and liability limitations through sound security means.
Mr. Slaughter is a U.S. Marine Corps veteran and prior to joining Canyon served nearly twenty years as a police officer for the City of Newport Beach. During his law enforcement career, Mr. Slaughter worked in specialized assignments including Narcotics, Intelligence and S.W.A.T. He served with a multitude of law enforcement agencies and conducted city, state, federal and international investigations. Mr. Slaughter was a member of a nationally recognized, federally funded joint task force specializing in narcotic interdiction and international money laundering investigations. Mr. Slaughter is well versed in Community Oriented Policing techniques, Crime Prevention and has expertise in working with government and city leaders in problem solving. Mr. Slaughter holds a M.S. in Emergency Management and a B.S. in Professional Studies from California State University Long Beach.
